Simple Everyday Yogic Technology for an Optimal YOU

I personally use this to give me an energy boost before doing meditation in the evening and during that afternoon slump.

1 – Come into a comfortable seated position (cross-legged on the floor or sitting on your heels is recommended) with the eyes closed.

2 – Raise the arms up to a 60 degree angle. Keep the elbows straight and the shoulders down. Tuck the chin slightly, elongating the back of the neck, and lifting the crown of the head to the sky.

3 – Curl the fingertips on to the pads of the palms at the base of the fingers. Thumbs are stretched back, pointing towards each other.

4 – Begin Breath of Fire, a fairly rapid equal inhale-exhale pattern through the nose. A correct Breath of Fire engages movement of the diaphragm and can be maintained without heavy effort for an extended period of time.

5 – Continue for 1 – 3 minutes.

END by inhaling deeply and bringing the arms overhead with the thumbs touching. Open the fingers, exhale and relax the arms down.
